Step Up for Smart Works 2025
For many women, getting a job is a lifeline. It is a chance to escape poverty, gain financial stability and restore confidence. In the shadow of the cost of living crisis, there is an intensified need for the Smart Works service.
Smart Works is a UK charity that dresses and coaches unemployed women for their job interview. They give women the confidence they need to reach their full potential, secure employment and transform their lives. In the last year, 63% got a job within a month of their appointment.
Between the 1st and 31st of March, I will be walking 10,000 steps a day to raise vital funds for Smart Works. I would appreciate anything you are able to give to this fantastic charity.

HALFWAY THROUGH - 330.000 STEPS AND COUNTING...
Monday 17th MarWhen I first signed up for Step Up for Smart Works, I knew it would be a challenge, but I never imagined just how exhilarating it would feel to push my limits while supporting such an incredible cause. In just 16 days, I’ve completed 330,000 steps, and I’m more motivated than ever to see just how far I can go!
Smart Works is an organization that empowers women by providing them with the clothing, coaching, and confidence they need to succeed in job interviews and beyond. Knowing that every step I take contributes to their mission has made this journey even more meaningful.
Through early morning walks, long strides through the city, and plenty of time spent outdoors with Swiff (my ever-enthusiastic walking partner!), this challenge has been both physically and mentally rewarding. It’s not just about the steps, it’s about resilience, dedication, and the power of collective action.
On the fundraising side, I’m thrilled to have raised £260 so far, and I’m determined to reach my goal of £400! Every donation, no matter how big or small, directly supports women on their journey to employment, and I’m so grateful for everyone who has contributed and cheered me on.
With a few more days to go, I’m excited to see how much further I can push myself. Thank you for the support—let’s keep stepping up together! 💙
